RTC/Driving Considerations

This morning, Whitchurch SNT have attended the below 2 vehicle RTC on the A525 near to Broughall, luckily there were no injuries involved however the road was closed for a while as we awaiting vehicle recovery and highways to clean up the roads.

The weather conditions this morning were far from great with Snow and Ice covering a large majority of the counties roads along with heavy fog. Whilst at this RTC we had to speak to a large number of motorists who had not adopted their driving to suit the conditions of the road and many without lights on. During the current weather conditions please leave extra time when planning journeys and ensure that your lights are turned on and if necessary fog lights also. Modern cars will have automatic lights/Daytime Running Lights however these do not take into consideration foggy weather, please manually turn lights your on and drive to arrive.

The below link from the Met Office has some useful tips for driving in the colder weather.

Many Thanks.
