PC Prentice and PC Trowman were out today on the Offenham Road due to having complaints of speeding. 150 vehicles passed the officers, and we are pleased to saying ZERO were above the 40mph limit. In fact, the majority were in the low 30’s, high 20’s and checks showed only 2 vehicles doing 40mph. We hope this gives some reassurance to the local community. As previously mentioned in an earlier post, these officers will continue to check areas of concern within their patch, and will report any findings to the public and to the relevant parish council.
Road safety concerns, in particular speeding, are consistently raised by our local communities. Speed cameras (both mobile and fixed) are located in areas where there have been collisions and where there is a demonstrated speeding problem.
If you are concerned about speeding in your area then this can be raised with either your local parish/town council or your local Safer Neighbourhood policing team, we will then be able to look at data collection and offer advice on the most appropriate form of action.
Contact us at eveshamrs.snt@westmercia.police.uk to raise a concern.
