Stay Safe & Stay Legal on the Road

Seat Belts:
• It’s illegal not to wear a seat belt when one is available in your seat.
• £500 fine if you or a child under 14 isn’t properly secured.
• Children under 135cm or under 12 must use the correct car seat.
• Only one person per seat belt – never share.
• Passengers 14+ are responsible for wearing their own seat belt.

Mobile Phones:
• It’s illegal to use a handheld phone while driving – even at traffic lights or in traffic.
• £200 fine + 6 points on your licence. New drivers? That’s a ban.
• You can only use a handheld device if:
• Parked with engine off
• Calling 999 in an emergency
• Making a contactless payment in a stationary vehicle
• Using it to park remotely
• Hands-free use is allowed, but it must not block your view or distract you.

Let’s keep our roads safe for everyone. Buckle up. Phone down. Every time.
