Following the PCC’s latest assurance and accountability session with the Temporary Chief Constable, several themes were addressed with regards to the public’s experiences and perceptions of retail crime.

Over the next few weeks, the themes discussed in this meeting will be explored further and today, the focus is around shoplifting.

The PCC put your questions and concerns about shoplifting to the T/CC and asked about what action West Mercia Police is taking to keep businesses and retailers safe.

In response to the PCC’s questions, the Chief Constable said:

 

“I personally think shoplifting...it's very serious. It effects businesses, it effects costs and it has increased significantly."
