Oswestry Rural South Safer Neighbourhood Team had been assisting in Wem on Wednesday 17th April 2024.

At approximately 4pm on Police were alerted to a report of military shell that had been located in a Charity shop in Wem town. The Military Bomb disposal team attended and transported the item securely to the playing field at Thomas Adams School. The Shell was destroyed in with a controlled blast. The military later confirmed the shell was live.
