  • If you do have any scrap metal on your property that you are intending to take to a scrap yard yourself, please make sure that it is kept somewhere out of view and well hidden. Some metals hold a high scrap value and these will be highly sought after.

  • Make it harder to steal - Tackling the crime is about prevention as much as detection. We encourage people to remain vigilant and consider security measures to protect metal assets, such as storing in safe places and investing in security devices.

  • Make it harder to dispose of – Marking property makes metal harder to dispose of and helps the police trace it if it has been stolen. Property marking is available for most metal assets from catalytic converters to historical artefacts.
  • Thank you for your help. It is only by the police and the public working together that we can prevent and detect crime.

Finally, if you found this message useful, then please respond accordingly below to let me know so I can monitor future content.
