This week we’re supporting Op Sceptre, a national campaign to tackle knife crime.

We know locally knife crime is relatively low compared to other areas, however, we’re not complacent and continue to take action to stop people from carrying a knife in the first place.

Today we have conducted patrols around recreational spaces conducting sweeps for any discarded weapons, and visited retailers regarding the selling of bladed articles. 

One retailer took the opportunity to surrender some kitchen knives that were bought in which they were unable to sell. These will be sent for destruction.
