Last week was Op Sceptre, a week long, national knife crime intensification campaign. For our part Oswestry & Ellesmere SNT were out engaging with local businesses to have discussions on and around the sale of knives, especially checking on their compliance with Challenge 25. We also spoke with schools and parks regarding finding and disposing of knives found or handed in. We can say that all businesses were up-to-date with posters and were aware of Challenge 25 and no knives have been found in the area.

As part of this operation; officers from SNT and patrol were involved in an incident with a shoplifter, who on being searched was found to be in possession of 2 knives, they was subsequently arrested for this offence also.
