Pubwatch Scheme

Pubwatch schemes are local, independent groups formed of people working in licensed premises.

They often take part in safety and alcohol awareness campaigns.

The objectives of groups are:

  • to tackle and prevent anti social behaviour and criminal activity

  • promote safe drinking environments for customers and secure working environments for staff

  • improve communication and sharing information between licensees

  • Useful websites and how to join

Our Safer Neighbourhoods Policing Teams are keen to work alongside local pubs and landlords to help reduce the amount of crime happening in their area. We understand the devastating impact that crime can have on pubs and their landlords, which is why we want work together and help our local communities.

By joining your local Pub Watch scheme, you will receive:

  • tailored police alert messages via Neighbourhood Matters about matters that may affect or be of interest to pubs. You can reply directly back to your Safer Neighborhoods Team

  • face-to-face support and advice from your local Safer Neighbourhoods Team in relation to your scheme

  • marketing packs which include scheme branded materials to raise awareness of your scheme

  • If you think you may benefit from a Pub Watch scheme or would like to know more information, please contact us and include where you live, or contact your local Safer Neighbourhoods Team.

If you are already part of a Pub Watch or similar scheme, your group can join Neighbourhood Matters as an already existing group and receive the same benefits as a scheme that has been set up through an Safer Neighbourhoods Team.
