Abandoned vehicles

As a Community Safety Engagement Officer I have many parts to my role, one of which is helping the public with problems that they have in the community.

One particular problem is abandoned and untaxed vehicles.

The DVLA has given West Mercia Police the power to seize untaxed cars, this will of course depend on where they are parked.

The first thing I would ask is that you check the tax status of the vehicle on the DVLA website

Check if a vehicle is taxed - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Once confirmed you can report it online while you are on the website, you can also let me know or your local policing team.

I would also recommend that you consider reporting it via MyTelford , you can download the app or simply sign up online.

Reporting is simple, however if possible, take a picture and note the street and any property nearby to help locate the vehicle

We have had some recent success in cleaning up abandoned vehicles, but we still rely on you to help

Many thanks

Rob
