Man sentenced to three years for domestic abuse

A man was yesterday (Monday 15 July) sentenced to three years and nine months for domestic abuse offences relating to an incident in the Weobley area of Hereford in 2023.

Janed Khan, of Amberley Grove, Birmingham, was found guilty in June of engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, stalking, harassment, burglary and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He was sentenced at Worcester Crown Court to a total of three years and nine months for the offences committed between September and November last year, following last month’s trial.

The investigating officer said: “We are pleased to get this custodial sentence result for Khan whose actions caused fear and intimidation to his victims.

“We hope this result serves as a reminder to people that we always take these kinds of offences seriously and if they are reported to us, we will always seek to get justice.

“We would always encourage people who are victims of these offences to approach police. We will always listen and offer all the support you need to get justice for you and to help you to rebuild your lives.

“I would like to praise the team for their hard work and dedication on this investigation and attaining a good result at court.
