Please be advised that we have seen a number of scam phone calls reported to us, whereby the caller is claiming to be a police officer and that there has been suspicious activity on your bank account. 

The scammer is very persistent and believable, quoting a collar number and specific police station that they work from. The scammer tells you that you  need to transfer money over to a ‘safe’  police held bank account, but for you not to tell anyone as they think someone in the bank is involved in stealing the money. 

IT IS A SCAM!! The police would never ask you to transfer money, nor would they ask you to draw money out of your bank account. 

Please alert your friends and families, especially any older more vulnerable members of the community. 

If in doubt, hang up the phone.
