Dear residents,
With children having recently returned back to school, we would like to remind you about how to park safely and considerately during times of school drop off and pick up. The safety of pedestrians is far more important than finding a close spot to leave your car so please always think before you park.
The vast majority of people park in a considerate manner and when parking on a pavement they will leave enough room for a double buggy, large wheelchair or guide dog and owner to get past. However, there are a minority of motorists that park fully on the pavement next to an overgrown hedge, lamp post or tree making it difficult for pedestrians get past and forcing them to go into the road which brings inherent dangers itself. An obstruction can also impact on access by emergency services vehicles.
