As West Mercia Police are having a vehicle crime intensification week of action this week, it seems like a good time to share our Operation Yard activity. This is an operation tackling lorry curtain slashing, theft from Heavy Goods Vehicles and fuel thefts from road freight vehicles.

Safer Neighbourhood officers, response  and road policing units regularly carry out night time patrols in hot spot areas such as lorry parks and laybys. 

In the very early hours of this morning, Malvern Safer Neighbourhood team carried out high visibility patrols at Strensham Services (North and South Bound) on bike and on foot. They engaged with lorry drivers and offered crime prevention advice as well as offering reassurance. 

We hope that our continued presence at locations like this sends out a message to potential thieves, that there is a very good chance of getting caught if they attempt to commit this sort of crime in our Policing area.
