Thank you

Good afternoon,

PC Trowman and I myself would just like to give you a brief update of our last 2 weeks since taking on the new area. We have been overwhelmed with the response from the public in terms of getting in touch with us, whether it be members of the community and/or parish council. We have held various drop-in sessions across the area and again, blown away with the turnout of residents. It is clear from these drop-ins, the community have concerns and we will do our best to address these. The parish councils have been supportive and nothing but informative. We hope we can continue this close working relationship to address concerns together. Ben and I feel drop-in sessions across the community are one of the best ways to meet the local community as we are aware not everyone uses social media, or the internet. Therefore, if you are aware of drop-in sessions in your local area, please feel free to spread the word to residents who may not use the internet. It is clear from speaking with residents across the area that parking and speeding are a big concern. Please make sure you make your parish council aware of these concerns so they can pass on to us. Already within the week, we have made great progress with setting up Community Speedwatch in one of the parishes and data boxes have been requested in the other areas where there is a speeding concern in order for us to establish the average speed of vehicles. Rural Crime offences have also been highlighted as a big concern. PC Trowman is in the process of looking into these reports and we are looking at doing Operations to combat this alongside with colleagues from neighbouring forces and our Rural Crime Team. We will keep you updated!

Again, Ben and I would just like to thank you to the people who have come to see us recently, and we hope to see more of you at the future drop-in sessions. Ben and I are open to any suggestions you may have with regards to engaging with the community, whether it be drop-ins, coffee mornings etc, so please if you have any suggestions, please feel free to email us.

Kind regards

PC Alex Prentice and PC Ben Trowman
