Leominster Safer Neighbourhood team Update

Successful enforcement and engagement for Leominster Safer Neighbourhood Team:

Monday - Op ‘Stop that Sheep’ saw the team joined by animal welfare officers and the community protection team from Herefordshire Council on Mill Street, to conduct traffic activities to ensure road worthiness of agricultural vehicles carrying livestock. Advisories also offered in relation to vigilance around rural crime, specifically the recent spate of vehicle thefts. In addition, waste carriers were stopped to ensure licensing compliance.

Wednesday - Early afternoon the team came across a drug driver on Dishley St, who was subsequently arrested. Shortly after, an unconnected male was arrested for public indecency, burglary and shoplifting. In this instance our team were assisted by Roads Policing and Police Dog handler.

Thursday Am - Police Academy Sports Stars saw the team invite local children for a free afternoon of football, netball and rounders, to include drinks and snacks (thank you to Morrisons for the supplies). Also promoting the Be bright Be seen campaign.

Thursday Pm- Operation Ghostbusters where the team were out in the ‘spooky’ patrol car, keeping our trick or treaters safe, deterring antisocial behaviour and providing reassurance to our vulnerable Leominster residents. Assisted by Josh, one of the police cadets and the cadet leader Pc Jo Utley.
