This week is operation sceptre week, whereby police and communities across the UK tackle knife crime and make our Neighbourhoods safer.
Here are some main reasons why these weeks are organised:
- Heightened focus on Prevention and Awareness - Increased searches and seizures - Collecting and disposing of knives - Community and multi-agency working - Data and intelligence gathering
These weeks are about prevention, education and enforcement using a concentrated effort to make a measurable impact on reducing knife crime. We want to send a clear message that Police are actively working to protect communities from knife related violence.
What you can do:
- Star Report informed - Learn about the impact of knife crime - Surrender bins - Look out for amnesty bins in your local area for safe disposal - it - If you or someone you know may be involved in Knife crime, or on the periphery of becoming involved, please let us know. All of the knives will now be destroyed and off the streets. |
