Reporting incidents

Dear Resident

This is just a reminder on how to report an incident.

Although it is now easier to get in contact with your local Safer Neighbourhood Team using Neighbourhood matters and work mobile phones numbers, these are not reporting channels.

Neighbourhood matters and mobile phones enable the residents, business, and community groups across each area to find out more about what is happening in their local community and to contact us to let us know information, ask us questions etc, they are not ways to make reports or ask for attendance to deal with incidents.

The team are getting increasing direct calls and message from members of the public, trying to report crimes and or incidents as well as sending screen shots of complaints and issues posted on social media. Incidents need to be recorded correctly through the correct channels: To report crime, please visit www.westmercia.police.uk. In an emergency, always dial 999 or call 101 for non-emergency, If issues are not reported then the team cannot always assist and are not aware some situations have even happened.

Your SNT covers a large area and can only assist with issues they are correctly made aware of.

To find details of how to contact your local Safer Neighbourhood Team, visit the Neighbourhood Matters website at www.neighbourhoodmatters.co.uk, and search using your postcode or street address.

Many thanks

Oswestry Rural South SNT
