Oswestry Christmas Live

Police officers and Community Support Officers from the four Oswestry Safer Neighbourhood Teams attended and patrolled the Oswestry Christmas Live Event this evening on Friday 6th December in the Town Centre.

Although the weather was trying to spoil the fun, a good turn out from the community was seen with a number of Stalls, Activities, Fair Rides and Attractions, Santa's Grotto, Live Music all available, along with late night shopping and some Fireworks to finish the evening off.

In all the Event was well organised, well behaved and incident free.

Whilst attending the Event officers also completed a number of licensed premises checks which involved officers attending establishments and speaking with staff and customers with all in good spirits.

This time of year sees an increase in these types of visits along with patrols in the Town Centre, so if you see us out and about don’t be shy and say hi.

This time of year also brings awareness to Drink and Drug driving. Clearly this should say it for itself but don’t Drive under the influence of Drink or Drugs. Know your limit or better still don’t drink at all if you plan to drive. If you don’t have to then be a safe, responsible, designated driver and get home safe. Don’t forget if you had a heavy night out you might still be over the limit the following morning so don’t take the risk.
