Storm Darragh

Storm Darragh.

The Met Office has issued a Red Weather Warning.

  • The emergency "risk to life" alert came into effect at 1am today for people covered by the Met Office's rare red warning for wind in parts of Wales and southwest England;

  • It was the largest use of the warning system yet, with the alert urging residents to avoid driving and to "stay indoors if you can";

  • Darragh is also expected to bring heavy rain over the weekend, with more than 120 flood alerts in place this morning;

  •

    We are advising to stay indoors and not to travel.

    Only travel if you absolutely need to. Ensure you have a charge mobile phone, warm clothing, and some form of hydration and food with you.  If possible download what three words (W3W).

    Check on friends and family to ensure they are ok.

    If you are concerned for someone call 101 or 999 in an emergency.

    Remember do not take any risks.

    Take care and stay safe. The emergency services are always there to help.
