Two identified following reports of two individuals using catapults to shoot at birds.

The two individuals were identified by PCSO Kev Tudge of the Pickersleigh and Chase Safer Neighbourhood Police Team from CCTV images which appeared to show a catapult being used to shoot at birds on Friday 6th December in the Pickersleigh area of Malvern.

In England, it is illegal to intentionally harm, kill or injure birds under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, for which you could incur a six month prison sentence.

One of the individuals is 14 years of age, his parents have since been spoken with to advise them of their sons actions, the other individual is 21 years of age and has also been spoken to, both are being dealt with accordingly.

We are a nation of animal and bird lovers, this type of behaviour is not only cruel, it is completely unacceptable and needs to stop.

We urge anyone with any such information of anyone carrying out any such behaviour to report it to us.

Thank you for your support

PCSO Kevin Tudge
