Witness appeal after delivery van parcels stolen

We are appealing for witnesses after a delivery van was targeted in Stourport yesterday evening (Monday 16 December).

A driver was delivering parcels in Hermitage Way at around 5.17pm and had parked his white VW Crafter van while making a delivery.

Upon returning to the vehicle, two males were in the front cab and made off in the van after seeing the driver returning.

He gave chase and managed to climb into the back of the vehicle, but the offenders then drove to a layby on Larford Lane where they abandoned the van and made off with several parcels.

The driver gave chase again and managed to tackle one of the offenders to the floor retrieving several parcels before they made off again.

One of the males was wearing black tracksuit bottoms and a black hoody and the other one was in grey tracksuit bottoms and a black hoody. Both had scarves or snoods covering their faces and local accents.

We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen this incident to get in touch with Stourport Safer Neighbourhood Team quoting incident number 344i of 16 December at stourport.snt@westmercia.police.uk .

Alternatively, if you have information but don’t feel comfortable speaking to police, you can speak to the independent charity Crimestoppers. It is 100% anonymous, they never ask your name, and they cannot trace your call or IP address. You can contact them online or by calling 0800 555 111.
