We’re aware of social media commentary about an incident in Meon Vale last week and would like to provide an update. 

On Wednesday 11 December, around 11.45pm, we received a report that gunshots had been heard in the area of Langate Fields. Officers attended and found damage to a property in the street, consistent with a firearms discharge.

No-one was injured and the incident is believed to be between people known to each other. There is not believed to be a risk to the wider public.

Enquiries are continuing and a man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of damage / destroy property with intent to endanger life. He has been bailed with conditions including not to enter Worcestershire.
