A Pershore shoplifter was handed an 18-week sentence for six counts of theft when she appeared at court today (Thursday 19 December). Kathleen Chesworth, 41, of Goldfinch Rise, Pershore, was convicted of one count of theft from dwelling and five counts of theft from shop at Kidderminster Magistrates Court. Chesworth was arrested at an address in Pershore on Tuesday and convicted of the offences - which date from the end of October through November - at court today. Police Sergeant Cath Atkinson of Pershore Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “We are pleased to get this swift court sentencing today following Chesworth’s arrest on Tuesday. “We take retail crime seriously and work hard with our retail partners to ensure thieves are brought to justice.” The public are our eyes and ears on the ground and can help us tackle crime.
