Join Telford’s Farm Watch Scheme Are you a farmer or part of an established WhatsApp or Watch scheme? We’re looking for individuals and groups who want to strengthen communication with the local police and improve safety in our rural communities. What is the Farm Watch Scheme? The scheme offers direct communication between farmers and your local policing team through Neighbourhood Matters, our email-based messaging service. However, we understand that email-based systems aren’t always popular in rural areas, so we are seeking volunteers who can help disseminate important information through WhatsApp groups or other local communication channels. Why Get Involved? Regular communication is vital to addressing emerging crime trends and improving security in rural areas. By linking your network with the police, we can work together to share information, increase intelligence, and enhance crime prevention efforts. What Can We Offer? Farm visits to discuss crime prevention, tailored to your specific needs.A crime prevention survey to identify potential vulnerabilities.Expert advice on security measures and best practices for farm safety. The opportunity to liaise with other local farmers and police officers to improve communication.Relevant signage to deter criminals by highlighting membership in the Farm Watch scheme.Crime prevention items to help safeguard your property and improve security.Interested? For more information or to join the Farm Watch Scheme, please contact sian.thomas@westmercia.police.uk. If you are happy to be a coordinator, please specify this in your email. Together, let’s make Telford’s rural areas safer. |
