Police Operation in Broseley on the evening of Wednesday the 12th of February.

On the evening of Wednesday the 12th of February, Officers from the Broseley and Much Wenlock Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted an operation in Broseley, concentrating on targeting individuals, addresses, areas and vehicles that have been previously linked to possible illegal drug supply.  The team was supported by officers from other departments in a coordinated manner.

Four patrol vehicles, three of them marked and one unmarked, were involved in the operation with two Police Officers or Police Community Support Officers in each vehicle. Supporting them were four other officers based in Bridgnorth, conducting checks on Police computer systems as and when the patrolling officers identified something that needed to be checked.

A total of ten vehicles in the town were checked and intelligence reports on a number of them have been submitted because of the suspicious activity observed.  In recent days there have also been three reports of empty nitrous oxide containers, the commercial size ones, being left in a number of areas around the town.  Those locations were patrolled and checked last night.  Nitrous oxide has been a Class 9 drug since November 2023 and inhaling it can have devastating side effects.

These operations are a regular feature of the work conducted by the Safer Neighbourhood Team, as well as others targeting those involved in rural crime, anti-social driving and speeding. Further operations will continue to be conducted in the area.
