Sgt Peter Rigby, the Neighbourhood Sergeant for Wellington Town & Rural took opportunity today to join PCSO Josh Peel on patrol in Little Wenlock and the area around the Wrekin to find more about what the Safer Neighbourhood Team were doing to keep the area safe. Agricultural crime, ASB caused by off road bikes and vehicles passing through the villages at speed featured as a priority for the team, albeit this is a relatively low crime area of Telford. A routine check of the carpark at New Work proved to be clear, but as PCSO Peel pointed out this was not always the case in the evening and he and his colleagues were giving this area greater attention. During our patrol we visited some other key locations and farms in the area, and it was evident the officers for the Little Wenlock area had a good understanding of the community.
