This afternoon, PCSO Scott from the Broseley and Much Wenlock Safer Neighbourhood Team was invited to join a community coffee afternoon at the Lady Forester Nursing Home in Much Wenlock. The event was organised to the bring outside community to the residents. The event was a huge success, I was made to feel extremely welcome and it was great to meet the residents, staff and the management team. ![]() Other guests in attendance included the local Mayor, pupils from William Brookes School (who entertained us all with their musical talents), members of the local WI and not forgetting the local water fairies (sorry, the Much Wenlock Fire Brigade) and their new recruits.
Whilst enjoying a cup of tea and slice of cake (I’ve never seen so much choice), I was enthralled chatting to those present. The discussions ranged far and wide, chatting about memories of growing up (I was born at the Lady Forester Cottage hospital). I met a lady who had spent most of her life in London as a nurse, a gentleman from the Black Country who was one of 11 children and another who’s son had just retired from West Mercia Police. ![]() The team try to attend as many community events as they can. By being accessible and meeting people, we can find out if they have concerns regarding criminal or anti-social activity that we may be able to help with. Please get in touch with us by using our email bmw.snt@westmercia.police.uk If you aren’t comfortable contacting us directly, you can pass on information anonymously to the independent charity, Crimestoppers, by calling 0800 555 111 or by visiting their website: www.crimestoppers-uk.org Thank you for your help. It is only by the police and the public working together that we can prevent and detect crime. Kind regards, PCSO Scott | ||||
