PCSO David on his marks for marathon effort for charity close to his heart

MARATHON EFFORT | Our very own Wyre Forest PCSO David Foden is currently in training for the London Marathon on Sunday 27 April, all in aid of a good cause.

David has been running for around five years now, but this will be his first marathon, and he is being joined on the day by his daughter Lucy.

It’s also the first time he has committed to fund-raising on a marathon scale too and the reason for this is one close to his heart.

David said: “My dad Brian was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease 20 years ago and I have seen this illness take him from being a strong, dependable and caring parent to being a shadow of his former self.

“Loss of mobility, speech then cancer and now dementia have all been part of his long Parkinson’s journey.

“By donating you will help fund care and research into this cruel illness which is the UK’s fastest growing neurodegenerative disease. So please donate, if you can, or share my appeal as much as you are able to. Thank you.”
