On Saturday 16th March, around 11am, an unknown person tried to enter a resident's garage in Wellington. Fortunately, the resident noticed and was able to scare them off before anything was taken. This serves as a good reminder for everyone to stay aware and keep an eye out for any unusual activity in the area.

๐ Crime Prevention Advice ๐ - Secure doors and windows: Ensure all external doors in your home and outbuildings have sturdy locks, and windows are closed and locked when youโre not at home. - Install lighting: Outdoor motion-sensor lighting can act as a deterrent. - Keep valuables out of sight: Avoid leaving items such as jewellery, electronics and expensive tools visible from windows. - Mark your property: Use a UV pen or other property marking systems to make stolen items easier to trace. - Consider installing CCTV โ A visible camera system can deter criminals and provide evidence if needed. Even a dummy camera can act as a deterrent. - Be a good neighbour: Keep an eye on each otherโs properties and report anything unusual.
