Oswestry SNT welcomed His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh to Oswestry and Gobowen. The Duke of Edinburgh arrived at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic hospital by helicopter and was met by The Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire, Mrs Anna Turner and members of various West Mercia Police teams. The visit consisted of attendance at the Derwen College, OsNosh and The New Saints FC Foundation stadium.

A lot of planning went into the policing of  the visit to ensure that it went without incident and could be enjoyed by all.
