Members of your safer neighbourhood team have been out yesterday conducting a speed enforcement operation at various points along the Ludlow road from Church Stretton through to Little Stretton.

There were many vehicles seen on the road whilst there throughout the afternoon, whilst most were within the posted speed limit of 30mph there were a number of vehicles traveling in excess of the posted limit, these vehicles will have enforcement action taken against them. 

The average speed recorded whilst we were out was: 

 - Church Stretton: 26mph

 - Between Church Stretton & Little Stretton: 29mph

 - Little Stretton: 27mph

The highest recorded speed was:

 - Church Stretton: 34mph

 - Between Church Stretton & Little Stretton: 38mph

 - Little Stretton: 35mph

There was a clear lack of regard from a number of drivers for the posted speed limit, the limits are there for your safety and the safety of others. I would like to remind road users that speeding is one of the four main reasons attributed to collisions that result in serious injury and loss of life.

Drivers can receive a minimum fine of £100 and 3 points on their license if they are prosecuted for the offence of speeding.
