Greenhouse/shed Burglary in the North.

Dear residents of Church Hill,

We have received a report on the 21st march 2025 on the North side of Church Hill where someone had gained access to the rear garden and gained entry to a greenhouse/shed and stolen property.

This occurred overnight/early hours in the morning. Please make sure you have home security and make sure properties are securely locked along side with garden furniture.

Sheds:

1) Choose the Location Carefully

- One of the tips to secure your shed is by choosing its location carefully. Try to make your shed difficult to see from outside of your property.

- Trees, shrubs and trellis can be great for shielding your shed by creating height and blocking the view into your garden from outside.

2)Hide what’s inside your shed

- Make sure items in your shed is hidden from view.

- If your shed has windows, consider covering them with blinds, or privacy film.

3) Use a shed security bar
- A security bar is one of the best ways to secure your garden shed and protect your belongings inside.

- Shed security bars are made of metal and cover the entire width of your shed door with locks on both sides.

4) Add a security light
- A security light, with motion detection, attached to your shed can be a a great deterrent.

5) Fit a security camera

- A motion-detection camera can beam footage straight to your tablet or smart phone.

- If you’re away on holiday, a security camera that works with your smart phone can be a great way to keep an eye on your shed and property, too.

Be safe and be aware.

Any suspicious activity please report to 101 or for emergencies dial 999.

Kind regards.
