Addressing Anti-social behaviour at Hollinswood.

The Nedge Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT), in collaboration with external agencies, is actively working to manage and support residents in Hollinswood. One of the issues that residents are concerned about, is the number of rough sleepers that frequent the communal areas of the flats. We are addressing the root causes of homelessness and ensuring that individuals are not criminalised for the lack of shelter. However, behaviours that will not be tolerated are drug use, toileting in a public place, obstruction, intimidation and criminal damage. Addressing rough sleeping often involves a coordinated approach between local authorities, outreach services and housing. This collaboration ensures that individuals receive the necessary support while also maintaining community safety. Several rough sleepers have been moved on and re receiving the support they require. We are aware however, that they can return and will access different blocks.

We were also concerned about the volume of rubbish in the area. This has also been addressed and removed. SNT will continue to patrol Hollinswood to offer reassurance and support.

If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us via, 101 or at: Nedge.snt@westmercia.police.uk. Always call 999 in an emergency. Officers recently put up some Crimestoppers signs in the area. Crimestoppers is an anonymous service and can be contacted on 0800 555 111 if you would prefer not to call the police.
