Community Work

COMMUNITY WORK-

Pershore Safer Neighbourhood Team have had another busy week so far!.

Monday we had our drop in surgery at No 8 where we spoke to some residents about concerns and issues in the area, and we had a lovely chat with the ladies at the Wellbeing Centre, we are looking to visiting them on a regular basis to reach out to anyone that should need some more support.

I visited Pershore High School to talk to students about Online safety and how to report anything that concerns them to the relevant agencies.  This is something that we do on a regular basis to ensure they are educated on what's appropriate behaviour and what isn't.

The students are always very receptive and conduct themselves very well towards us and appreciate our time in coming in to school.

The rest of the week so far has been full of visits to vulnerable people in their homes offering support where needed. We have regular meetings with Housing to ensure any concerns or issues within their community are resolved as quickly as possible.

Yesterday, myself and PCSO Stirling from the Rural team were called to an elderly lady that had broken down on a very fast road coming out of Pershore.  We ensured that the traffic moved safely past and waited with her until recovery arrived some couple of hours later.  You will often see us conducting Traffic Management at incidents such as this to keep drivers and pedestrians safe.  So if you witness something you feel needs the Emergency Services please call 999 in an emergency or 101 if less urgent.  Remember, if you break down on any road, to make sure you get safely out of the car and stay away from the highway until the relevant services arrive, this is why it's important to plan your journey and have essentials in your vehicle such as a blanket, water and appropriate clothing should you ever breakdown as it could be some time until recovery get to you.

We have been on patrols all week of key areas and will continue to be out and about at different times.  Look out for our next drop in session and if you need to speak to us about anything please call 101 or you can email the team on: pershore.town@snt.police.uk or simply message us through here.

We are heading into the Easter break so please have a lovely time if you are going on holiday, stay safe and enjoy the rest of this glorious weather we are having.

Kind Regards

PCSO Bex Ashley
