On Monday the 14th of April, Shropshire Council hosted an Armed Forces Outreach meeting at the Bridgnorth library, Listley Street, Bridgnorth, between 10:00 and 12:00.
In order to engage with former members of the Armed Forces, Police Community Support Officers Helen Oakley and Malcolm Goddard (who is himself a veteran) attended the meeting, chatting to the Armed Forces veterans and staff from partner agencies at the meeting. The discussions ranged far and wide, chatting about memories that one of the veterans had of their 35 years in the Royal Navy (The Senior Service), discussing the Armed Forces Veterans Card (follow this link to apply - Apply for an HM Armed Forces Veteran Card - GOV.UK )and the differences between the three services. Refreshments are always provided and anybody with a connection to the Armed Forces is welcome to attend, either for a chat or to seek assistance from the professionals present.
The meetings are held at the Bridgnorth Library on the second Monday of the month, between 10:00 and 12:00.
