Op Aurora - Speed enforcement in your area

Dear all,

Members of your safer neighbourhood team have been out yesterday conducting a speed enforcement operation along the B4368 through Hungerford and Broadstone.

There were many vehicles seen on the road whilst there throughout the afternoon, whilst most were within the posted speed limit of 40mph there were a small number of vehicles traveling in excess of the posted limit, however this was an overwhelming minority I am happy to report. Thank you to all road users I saw yesterday for this!

The average speed recorded whilst we were out was:

 -36mph

The highest recorded speed was:

 - 43mph

Its clear that road users yesterday were conscious of their speed going whilst travelling through an area with houses and pedestrians and for that they have my thanks. Speeding is a priority for us as it is one of the four main factors we see that lead to deaths and serious injury on our roads.

Drivers can receive a minimum fine of £100 and 3 points on their license if they are prosecuted for the offence of speeding.
