On Wednesday 30th April 2025 PC Lane and PCSO Steele alongside PC Davis from Evesham Response and parking enforcement officers from Wychavon attended Harvington First School. Officer's engaged with parents and carers regarding safe and sensible parking around the school for pick up time. Various parents were spoken to discuss the concerns of the community regarding parking sensibly and safely and leaflets were given out to encourage this message. This visit opened a two-way discussion, giving parents and members of the school staff the opportunity to ask questions about parking regulations and the laws of the road.
This visit aimed to raise awareness around the importance of keeping the area around the school clear and safe for children, pedestrians, and other road users. Thank you to everyone who took time to speak with the officers and for your continued support in keeping our school community safe.
We know that most people do want to do the right thing and drive safely and responsibly. We therefore request that you adhere to the following when parking, dropping off or collecting children from school; - Keep clear of the school 'Zig-Zags' ![]() - Adhere to local parking restrictions - Ensure pavements, driveways and pedestrian access points are kept clear - Ensure emergency vehicles would be able to get past if needed - Behave in a manner that is respectful towards others- including pedestrians and local residents - Park further away from the school if at all possible If you chose to ignore this advice you may find yourself at risk of being prosecuted/being issued with a parking ticket by council enforcement officers and/or the police. Remember inconsiderate parking outside schools puts pedestrians lives at risk.
