Dear Residents of Church Hill, 

This is to make residents aware that we have received a report on the 07/05/2025 where personal belongings were stolen out of a vehicle in Deans Close, Redditch. We call these thieves opportunists as they try car door handles to see if cars are left unlocked to see what personal items they can take such as loose change, bank cards, jewellery etc. 

A few simple steps you can take to keep your vehicle and belongings safe:

1) Always lock your vehicle

2) Close windows and the sun roof to prevent ‘fishing’

3) Secure your number plates with tamper-resistant screws

4) Fit locking, anti-tamper wheel nuts to secure alloy wheels

5) Secure anything that’s on the outside of your vehicle

6) Take personal belongings with you out of your car. 

7) Hide electrical items and leave no clues

8) Tool theft from vans- store tools inside your Home instead of your van. 

9) Park in well-lit and busier areas

10) Choose your car park wisely
