Yesterday morning PCSO Wills and PCSO Bowen attended the plastic free community event at The Wakes, where members of the public could attend to find out more about recycling and sustainability. This event was supported by Oakengates Town Council and Telford and Wrekin Council Safer Stronger Team. Councillor Hilda Rhodes and Mayor Stephen Reynolds we also in attendance. A Veoilia representative was available and Dr Bike was also present fixing up bikes for free!  We were on hand to answer any questions and concerns from our community and also gave out several hi vis items to bike riders and discussed the safe disposal of knives as part of Op Sceptre week. If your do have any old kitchen knives or unwanted knives, there is an amnesty bin based at Malinsgate Police station which you can place them in for safe disposal. It was a successful morning all around.
