PCC continues to focus on police performance as crime falls in West Mercia 

Whilst recorded crime has reduced significantly in West Mercia, outpacing the national average, crimes against women and girls including sexual offences are on the rise. 

In their recent Assurance and Accountability meeting, the PCC and Chief Constable committed to driving these numbers down together, through both scrutiny and improved investigation work.

The meeting was an opportunity for the PCC to offer support and to challenge the Chief Constable, to ensure the right resources and focus were being delivered to ensure the force is playing its part to best address a deep-rooted societal issue.
