Criminal Damage Trench Wood Nature Reserve WR9 7LW

Dear Residents,

Police have received reports regarding members of the public using bikes around Trench woods and causing damage to the area. Trench Wood is a nature reserve for members of the public to enjoy a walk around and it is also a well used bridle way. The land owners spend a lot of time and effort preserving the nature reserve, to protect the wildlife and to make sure it’s safe for the public to use.

Police have received calls that a lot of the tracks within the woods have had damage caused to them as they have been dug up and made into jumps for bikers to use. The land owners are having to spend a lot of time and money to get the tracks back to how they were, to ensure that the bridal ways are safe to use again.

If you or your family are attending Trench Wood nature reserve, please respect the area and please make people aware that no bikes are permitted to be in the woods. Police will be patrolling the area and will take action if any persons are caught causing damage to the land. CCTV has also been placed into the woods in an attempt to obtain suspects.

Regards
