Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) granted

Prolific Evesham shoplifter banned from seven shops for two years

A prolific Evesham shoplifter has been banned from seven stores and given a suspended sentence for multiple theft offences.

Wojciech Wieczorek, known locally as ‘Red Shoes’, age 44 and of no fixed abode, appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates Court yesterday (Wednesday 25 June).

Wieczorek was given an eight-week sentence (suspended for 12 months) for multiple theft – shoplifting – offences, as well as breaches of his Community Protection Notice.

He was also given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) for two years. The CBO prohibits him from going into the following shops in Evesham: -

  • Vale Wildlife Trust Charity Shop on High Street
  • One Stop Shop on High Street
  • Home Bargains in the Riverside Shopping Centre
  • Tesco Express on Cheltenham Road
  • Spar on Pershore Road
  • Boots on Bridge Street
  • M&S on Worcester Road
  • PC Matt Beards, of Evesham Town Centre Team, said: “We hope the CBO granted against Wieczorek, who is known locally as ‘Red Shoes’, shows we take crimes against retailers seriously and that this order will prevent him from further targeting these stores.

“Acquisitive crimes like shoplifting have a negative impact on the businesses in our town and ultimately can impact the customers too as costs to retailers increase.

“Anyone who see Wieczorek entering any of these stores should report it to us via our website at https://www.westmercia.police.uk/ro/report/ocr/af/how-to-report-a-crime/  or 101.”
