School drop off and pick up

School Drop-Off & Pick-Up – Let’s Keep It Safe

School areas are especially busy during drop-off and pick-up times, and that means extra care is needed to keep children, parents, and other road users safe.

Please remember:
• Yellow zigzag lines marked ‘School Keep Clear’ mean no stopping, waiting, or parking during restricted times.
• These markings are there to ensure clear visibility and safe crossing for children.
• Avoid parking opposite zigzags or blocking driveways – it creates hazards and inconveniences for others.
• Fines apply if you park where you shouldn’t. These can be issued by the council or police, depending on your area.
• Fines are often higher near schools but can be reduced if paid within 14 days.

Top tips:
• Give yourself extra time – school areas are busy!
• Park further away if needed but always be considerate of residents.
• Check for signs showing when restrictions apply.

Let’s all do our part to protect our communities and keep school zones safe for everyone.
