Grant scheme launched to protect people from scams

PCC awards £20k grant funding to prevent scams and support victims in Shropshire 

Committed to reducing crime and keeping the most vulnerable in our society safe from harm, the PCC has launched a £20k scheme to protect people in your community from falling foul of scammers.

Fraud and online scams amount to more than half of all crime in West Mercia, with recent reports showing a rise in scams such as courier fraud and romance fraud. Many victims suffer in silence due to the shame and stigma.

The Scam Awareness & Victim Support Grant scheme will be delivered in partnership with the Shropshire Community Foundation.
