Yesterday officers from the Rural North Safer Neighbourhood Team and members of the Firearms Licensing Team attended the Oswestry Show.
The team engaged with a large number of visitors to the show with some being local and many others from further away from the likes of Nottinghamshire, Hampshire and Gloucestershire, just to name a few. The team provided crime prevention advice and discussed any issues brought to their attention, whilst also handing out advice leaflets, crime prevention and bike safety items. The event also provided the team the chance to network with other agencies and local companies. The team came away with some issues of note brought to their attention which are affecting the Rural North area and we will look to address these concerns in the near future. These issues included, parked vehicles causing obstruction, speeding and drug abuse. The event was well attended with crowds enjoying the stalls, exhibits, classic vehicles and shows on display in the main arena. We’d like to thank the Oswestry Show Team for a superb event and to all the visitors to our engagement van and taking time to have some good chats with the team.
