Two arrested after reports of drone flying over prison |

Two men have been arrested following reports of a drone flying over HMP Long Lartin in South Littleton, Worcestershire last night (Wednesday 18 August). Officers deployed to the area around 11.50pm after a drone was sighted which dropped a package of suspected contraband before being flown away from the site. A blue Seat Leon car believed to be linked to the drone drop was then tracked through the West Midlands before being stopped at Stafford services on the M6 motorway. Two men in their 20s were arrested at the scene on suspicion of conspiracy to convey prohibited items into a prison. A drone was found in the vehicle and seized along with the car which are both being forensically examined. The package of suspected contraband was recovered at Long Lartin and seized for forensic examination too. The two men remain in police custody helping police with enquiries into this ongoing investigation.
