||
Two people were arrested on suspicion of drug dealing when a warrant was executed at an address in Stourport this morning (Friday 12 September). Officers from Stourport Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT), supported by colleagues from Wyre Forest SNT, Task Force and a dog handler entered the property in Chequers Close on the Walshes estate following intelligence around suspected dealing of illegal drugs. Inside the property, they found and seized significant quantities of class A drugs believed to be crack cocaine and heroin as well as suspected MDMA tablets, knives, illegal drug production paraphernalia, imitation firearms, mobile phones, and hundreds of pounds of cash. One man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and a woman in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs. Both are currently in police custody. PC Mark Bennett of Stourport SNT said: “Today’s warrant was executed in response to intelligence gathered around suspected drug dealing at an address on the Walshes estate. “We found multiple packages of drugs, weapons, cash and items relating to illegal drug dealing and have arrested two people on suspicion of drug dealing who are now helping us with our investigation. “Illegal drugs reap harm on and create fear in the communities we are here to protect and serve so we will always seek to target those involved. “We hope today’s actions show we will always listen to the public’s concerns around criminal activity in their neighbourhood and act where appropriate.” Acting on public information and local intelligence, our teams regularly carry out warrants at premises suspected of involvement in drug dealing. If you notice any suspicious behaviour, no matter how minor, please report it online. You can also share information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. | ||
