Rouge Traders

We have received a recent increase in the number of reports traders in the Bengeworth area.

These criminals are telling residents that their roof tiles need replacing and or fixing, in attempt to defraud people and scam them into handing over or transferring money, when no work is required or has been conducted.

Please remember the following information…

Do not engage if someone calls at your door offering unexpected services.

Don't agree to work on the spot. Genuine traders are often booked up in advance and do not need to cold-call

Ask for identification

Never hand over cash

Report suspicious activity to 101 or 999 in an emergency.

We would also like to reassure our communities that we are investigating these crimes and conducting patrols where these people have been reported.
