Good News from Holmer – Vigilance Leads to an Arrest |
At around 8am on Thursday 5th February 2026, police were called to the Crest Nicholson building site in Holmer, just off the A49, following a report of a theft in progress. Site workers had spotted an unfamiliar man, dressed in construction clothing, loading plasterboard and bags of plaster into a van. Recognising that he did not appear to be part of their team, staff quickly grew suspicious. They used a forklift to block the vehicle in while contacting police. Officers arrived promptly and confirmed that the man was not employed on the site and was in fact stealing materials. He was arrested at the scene and has since been taken into custody. This is a great example of how staying alert and reporting suspicious activity can help prevent crime in our community. Because the workers trusted their instincts and contacted police, a theft was stopped in progress and valuable property was recovered. Your vigilance really does make a difference.
A Reminder About Personal Safety While this incident ended safely, we want to reassure residents that your safety always comes first. We appreciate the quick thinking and awareness shown by the workers, and we encourage all residents to keep looking out for one another - safely!
